Zelia Nuttall and George Davidson were early scholars regarding Drake’s Pacific voyage. Nuttall’s discovery of primary source Spanish documents spawned her book, New Light On Drake. Davidson, in his work with the U.S. Coast Survey, determined Drake’s landing as located at Drakes Bay, California.
